Who are we?

Who are we? Each of us on Team Potter grew up competing in a sport that many people are just now beginning to hear about: curling. It's a sport of strategy, strength, skill and camaraderie. In the fall and winter months we spend much of our time practicing and competing in bonspiels both in the USA and internationally; and in the off-season, we train and prepare ourselves for the competitive season. We are currently training for the 2014 Olympic Trials. Follow this blog to check in on our competitive season.

Official start of the season

Team Potter is back in the states again! Huge thanks to Medford Motors for the team vehicle. It made the long ride up and back much more comfortable. And also big thanks to Olive Garden for filling us up with good food.

There was some great competition in Winnipeg and we hope that the spiel continues into the future because it's a great location and the ice was fast! All of us on the team enjoyed the hospitality that Tamara and her crew supplied during the weekend. And we tried hard to meet up with Team Komyshyn later on Saturday, but ended up at Earl's instead. All was good!

Weekend wrap-up: 1-4. We played some nail-biters, one went into an extra end and others were down to last rock(s). We made a great come-back in our game against Korea, scoring three in the 6th end, but could only play 7 ends because of the lack of time. We all agreed that it was a fantastic start to our season. We feel strong, balanced, and the communication on the ice is awesome!
